That afternoon, we stopped by Atlanta Rocks! to do some climbing.  The gym is pretty large and has several auto-belays.  Albert is using one of them in the two top pictures.  The rope is connected to a counterweight that keeps Albert from falling too quickly.  With an auto-belay, one does not need a climbing partner to prevent falls.

In the first picture, Albert is pushing down on a hold with his right hand in a move called "mantling".  This move is often easier than trying to pull one's body upwards.  In the bottom picture, Albert is working on an overhang at the end of a climb.
