We left Boston to live in California back in 2001 and in the six years we've been gone, we've been back five times: a Pediatrics conference, three weddings, and now a Neurology conference. In each of the first four return trips, we didn't really get a chance to visit the places where we used to go all the time to see how they've changed. With this trip, we thought it would be nice to spend a little time to see how Boston has changed.
We left the kids at home with Agnes' parents this trip. I don't really view this as a trip away from the kids as much as it was a trip to come back to Boston where we just didn't bring the kids with us. Even still, it was strange to not have them with us. We didn't check in on them while we were gone, but they seemed happy enough when we finally picked them up again at the end of the trip.
One thing we knew before we came out to Boston is that our favorite bookstore, Wordsworth, had closed two years before. It was always such a great bookstore, and it's sad that it's gone. In its place is a Leather World luggage shop. So sad.
Anyway, here are the pictures from our trip. All in all, I think we did everything we wanted to on this trip.
