After visiting three or four local furniture stores, we decided we were going to buy our mattress and bed separately. We found a bed frame that we liked on the IKEA web site, and drove over to pick it up. We tied the box to the roof of our car, and started to drive home.
The box was tied down pretty securely, but we hadn't counted on the rope cutting into the box as we drove along the freeway. It really seemed like the box was going to fly off the car into the traffic behind us. We had to stop twice to retie the ropes, and after a very nervous drive, we finally made it home. The arrow in the picture shows where the rope cut in.
