August 29th was the kids’ last day at their old school. Since we are moving inland to Cerritos, we’ve transferred the kids to a new school in that area. The kids had a little party on their last day. I brought a “fruit bouquet” for the teachers and some cupcakes for the kids. I think Eleanor and Miranda had some idea what was going on. It was nice to get pictures with their current teachers and go around to their old classrooms (the infant and toddler rooms) and say goodbye to their old teachers. After the kids had cupcakes, the whole class lined up and gave Eleanor and Miranda hugs. It was like a receiving line after a wedding. They each hugged fifteen kids. Miranda noticed that her picture had been taken down from her cubby and that her cubby had been emptied out. When I asked her why that happened, she said, “Because it’s our last day.”

I think overall I was the most traumatized since they’ve been at this school since they were six months old. They literally learned to eat solid foods, crawl, cruise, walk, talk, and potty train at this school. I laugh when I think about that time when Miranda almost got suspended because she was biting someone everyday, and the week that Eleanor couldn’t stop pooping in her underwear. They’ve come a long way.
