Not sleeping. We ended up running on Sunday afternoon after things cooled. Miranda was upset our run didn’t end at the beach.

I woke up at 8:30 and it was already quite warm. We skipped our run at Redondo and we’re currently shoe shopping for the kids.

Everyone got their hair cut today. Agnes got hers cut this morning. I got mine cut this afternoon, and Agnes’ mom cut our kids’ hair today.

Agnes let me sleep in for Father’s Day. We just came back from another run at Redondo Beach with the jogging stroller.

Tonight, Miranda wanted to try to button her own pajamas. She kept at it for a long time, and eventually she was able to do three of the four buttons on her shirt. She couldn’t see the top button well enough to fasten it.
I think she was successful because she’s generally interested in manipulating small things (e.g., threading beads), and she really sticks with things for a long time before deciding she can’t do it.
Eleanor had been unsuccessful in buttoning her shirt earlier this week, but after she saw what Miranda could do, she tried again. She couldn’t do it, and though Miranda came over to help, they eventually gave up on Eleanor’s shirt. The buttons on Eleanor’s shirt are larger, and I think they’re just harder to fasten.

The main challenge of this whole moving thing is trying to sell our house while living in it with two toddlers. Yesterday, I packed some books that I thought the kids weren’t interested in and a minute later, I found that they had taken out all the books from the box and wanted me to read to them. Every week, the house will have three open houses. I still don’t understand all of this myself, but one open house is on Wednesday for realtors only, one is on Thursday for some other special group, and then the general open house is on Saturday. In addition, our house key is in a safe which prospective buyers will have access to with a code, meaning they can pop over to see the house when they want.
Now, neither Bernard nor I are particularly neat people and with the two kids, it makes everything worse. If you stepped into the house at random, you would find dirty dishes everywhere, toys on the ground, piles of books and clothes. On Saturday, we moved a bunch of stuff into Public Storage to try to make the house more presentable. I guess the daily housework is going to have to step up a notch.

We went running this morning at Redondo Beach, then had hot dogs and ice cream. The kids are napping now and soon I will, too

Eleanor was crying because she woke up and found that her blanket wasn’t on. I put it on and that seemed to be all that she needed.

Just gave Miranda a time-out. She didn’t want to go to bed, so she bit me. Sigh.

The kids are off to sleep, which is relatively early for them. We had dinner (shrimp and pasta again) already, too
